Diets should be modified according to the prakiti (constitution), for each individual. In general, someone with vata prakiti should take warm, and sweet substances. One with pitta prakiti should take cool, heavy, sweet, bitter and astringent food and kapha prakiti person should consume food that is dry, warm, light, pungent, bitter and astringent tastes predominate. Humans constantly struggle against the changing environmental conditions to maintain the best health and vigour throughout the day and in all seasons.
