I have to admit, it is a funny name, but it is a wonderful pose. This pose helps to expand the chest and extend the latissimus dorsi. It is an amazing shoulder opener and also stretches the muscles of the upper back, upper arms, chest, hips and thighs. You may even find that you feel the pose in your ankle, arms and your hands as well. If you have a yoga strap, you should keep that close by. You don’t have to use the strap, but I find that if you have not done this pose in a while, or not at all, it helps you to gradually get into it.
