New Beatles Album Made With Love
Longtime Beatles producer George Martin and his son Giles Martin were asked by surviving group members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Fab Four widows Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, to come up with remixes of old recordings for a collaboration with Cirque Du Soleil. The Cirque production of Love is currently being presented at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada. “This album puts The Beatles back together again, because suddenly there’s John [Lennon] and George [Harrison] with me and Ringo,” says McCartney of Love. “It’s kind of magical.” Starr was also impressed by what the Martins came up with while working with the band’s master tapes at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. “It’s really powerful for me, and I even heard things I’d forgotten we’d recorded,” he says. The stereo CD version of Love will be 78 minutes long, while a 5.1 DVD-audio/DVD-video hybrid will add on an extra three minutes. It will be the first Beatles album available in 5.1, but the DVD will have no video component. Fall in Love with these remixed versions of Beatles songs:
