Hi, my candles never burn consistently and many times there is a lot of black smoke coming from the candle, how can I reduce this or even eliminate it?

I find that if you cut the wick down a bit, they burn a lot slower, and do not cause as much black smoke. The black smoke from a beeswax candle is safe, but can be messy.
